Brief biography of Dennys Carrillo

Music born free

Latino blood, absolute versatility: from tropical roots to sound creation.

The Beginning

I am Latino, and rhythm is in my DNA. For as long as I can remember, music has been the driving force of my life and my home. I grew up breathing the rhythms of our land, which gave me a natural instinct for understanding what a dance floor needs to explode. Today, I master the entire spectrum of Latin music: from the current floor-fillers of reggaeton and cumbia to the immortal classics of salsa, merengue, and bachata.

However, my musical background is a fascinating journey that sets me apart. My ear was sharpened from a young age thanks to my father, who filled the house with the power of rock (The Doors, AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses) and the unmistakable groove of disco music (Sylvester, ELO). Added to that was a revelation in 1998 while chatting with my uncle Walas, who taught me to love good rock and with whom I discovered something fundamental: music was born free.

Philosophy

I understood that taking my favorite parts of each genre to create something new was pure magic. That philosophy, combined with my later fascination for the electronic vanguard of Daft Punk and Deadmau5, turned me into a limitless musical creator.

“The dance floor speaks to you. You just have to listen.”

Background

At 17, I took all this schooling to a professional level. My deep mastery of Latin genres and my adaptability (“Open Format”) opened the doors to radio in Spain. In 2013, I joined the Radioactiva Europa station. My connection with the audience was so strong on the show A quemar la noche that I went on to direct the main morning show, El Mañanero, leading the morning ratings in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Murcia, and Ecuador (via Radio Zaracay). I also brought my creativity to Radio Bacanísima, winning the Award for Best Radio Advertising Creation (Cadena Dial).

During that golden era, I had the privilege of interviewing legends of the stature of Maelo Ruiz, R.K.M. & Ken-Y, Grupo Galé, Henry Mendez, and Amarfis. At the same time, I made crowds vibrate in iconic DJ booths like Discoteca Canela, La Cubierta de Leganés, and the Alive club in downtown Madrid, proving that I know how to keep people dancing until dawn.

The Return

In 2018, the exhaustion typical of success and nightlife led me to take a necessary break in Barcelona to recharge my energy. Today, I return to the scene with more strength and hunger than ever. I bring with me Earlybeats, a personal project and a platform where I pour all my musical maturity. If you are looking for someone who understands the Latin essence, masters urban trends, and has the experience to adapt to any audience, that is my territory. The dance floor is a canvas, and I am ready to keep painting it.
